TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 23, 2018 – All-American left-hander
Shane McClanahan (Cape Coral, Fla.) struck out nine in another six inning effort, but the USF baseball team fell to Fordham, 2-0, Friday night in the first of a three-game series.
The Rams (3-1-1) struck first in the second inning on a one-out double, passed ball and sac fly to score a runner from third. After adding one more in the fifth inning to go up 2-0, McClanahan came back out for the sixth and gave the Bulls (1-4) his third 1-2-3 inning.
Junior transfer
Richie Cruz (Miami) entered in the seventh for McClanahan and kept things within striking distance for USF. Junior
Alec Wisely (Jacksonville) walked with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, but the Bulls could not plate a run.
