TAMPA (March 13, 2018) – The USF Softball team looks to continue its nine-game win streak on Wednesday when it hosts Maine at 5 p.m.

The Bulls haven't dropped a game since March 2, when they opened the USF Series with four straight wins in the Under Armour Invitational. In nine games the Bulls have outscored their opponents, 60-16.

Last weekend, USF took on Villanova and Army in a doubleheader, followed by Iona and Loyola University Chicago in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Bulls didn't need seven innings to dispose of opponents and finished five games in a total of 28 innings. USF turned in four "run-rule" victories during that span, and battled to an eight-inning victory over Army.

USF's hot bats continued seven home runs, five doubles and two triples. Junior Mia Fung (Tampa) hit three home runs including two in USF's game against Villanova. Junior infielder Lindsey Devitt (Jacksonville, Fla.) also had an incredible week at the plate with three perfect games.

Scouting the Opponent
The Black Bears visit Tampa with three tournaments under their belt including the Under Armour Showcase last weekend. Maine picked up three wins in its first tournament of the season over Bucknell, Longwood and UNC-Wilmington. Maine also picked up a win over Saint Francis University at the 2018 Mizuno Classic in Stillwater, Okla.

USF and Maine have met 28 times dating back to the Bulls' inaugural season in 1985. USF leads the series, 26-2. The Bulls and the Black Bears last met in 2016 in a 9-3 victory for USF.
