TAMPA, FLA., MARCH 14, 2018 – Sophomore righty
Collin Sullivan tossed 5.0 scoreless innings and the University of South Florida baseball team plated five runs in the third to cruise to a 6-1 win over Jacksonville Wednesday night at home.
The Bulls (12-6) put together a one-out rally in the bottom of the third, as
Duke Stunkel Jr. (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) got things started with a single. In the next at-bat, junior
David Villar (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) added to his strong year with his ninth double of the year to put USF ahead 1-0.
Chris Chatfield (Riverview, Fla.) got on, the
JD Dutka (Suwanee, Ga.) singled to score Villar, making it 2-0. That brought up
Joe Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.), who drove a 1-2 pitch about 400 feet over the left field fence to put the Bulls on top 5-0.
USF made it 6-0 in the fifth before the Dolphins (10-8) plated a run in the eighth. But the Bulls were able to get revenge for last week's loss at Jacksonville.
