Quotable
Junior Mia Fung on her thought process at the plate…
"The only thing I'm thinking is, 'Try to stay calm. Don't get too jumpy.' I tend to jump out of my shoes. I am thinking 'I can hit this girl. Stay calm and relax. Get this hit.'"
Junior Mia Fung on how the team is playing…
"All of us are just comfortable and playing. Instead of worrying, we are playing and having fun with it."
Head coach Ken Eriksen on the win streak…
"Well you know the pitching staff is doing a pretty good job at keeping the other team at zero, and we had one intentional walk which was a good strategy, but other than that we didn't walk anyone. You do that, and you go errorless, and you give yourself an opportunity."
On strong at-bats by the team…
"I'll tell you right now, there's no real secrets to what anyone does. If they are seeing the ball well, they have an opportunity. We keep telling them to not to get in their own way, don't fight things. Don't fight location pitches, don't fight count pitches. Read and respond. Get in the box, get your eyes on it early, and get the barrel to the ball."
