TAMPA (March 22, 2018) – The Bulls will open conference play with three-game series, hosting UConn Friday through Sunday. The teams split a pair of games last season after the series was shortened due to weather.
USF's (22-13) 15-game win streak came to an end Wednesday night in Gainesville at the hands of Florida's Kelly Barnhill, who tossed her sixth individual no-hitter of the season.
The Bulls have outscored opponents, 161-121, this season. Junior
Lindsey Devitt (Jacksonville, Fla.) leads the team at the plate, batting .384 with 30 RBI. Senior
Astin Donovan (Guilford, Conn.) is just five hits away from reaching 200 in her career and follows Devitt at bat with a .343 average.
USF's strong pitching staff has been key this season with four Bulls boasting four or more wins. Freshman
Georgina Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) recorded USF's first no-hitter since 2015, and junior
Cheyenne Eggens (Vienna, Ohio) boasts a 1.27 ERA. Eggens has walked just three batters in 38.2 innings and has recorded three solo shutouts.
