WICHITA ST., KS., May 11, 2018 – The University of South Florida baseball team had double-digit hits for the 25
th time this season in Friday's 17-2 loss to Wichita St. to start the three-game series.
The Bulls (29-17, 11-8 The American) fell behind in the first, as the Shockers (32-16, 7-12 The American) hit a two-run homer.
JD Dutka (Suwanee, Ga.) laced a double down the left field line in the second, then
Kyle Phillips (Orlando) got USF on the board with an RBI single in the next at-bat, making it 2-1.
Wichita St. scored four runs over the next two innings to make it 6-1. In the top of the fourth, Dutka smashed a triple off the right-center wall, then Phillips again scored him to make it 6-2.
But the Shockers scored two runs in the bottom half and three runs in both the fifth and sixth, making it 14-2. Wichita added three more in the eighth to win 17-2.
