TAMPA (May 4, 2018) – Senior
Astin Donovan hit her 17
th multi hit game of the season in the Bulls' loss to Wichita State. USF and the Shockers are now tied in the conference and will vie for the regular season title in games two and three this weekend.
Wichita State (30-18, 12-7) jumped ahead early with a solo home run in the second inning and added one more in the top of the fifth for a 2-0 lead.
The Bulls scattered four hits, including two by Donovan (Guilford, Conn.). Senior
Lauren Evans (Land O' Lakes, Fla.) and junior
Lindsey Devitt (Jacksonville, Fla.) had a hit each.
Freshman
Georgina Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) fanned seven in 6.2 innings, and senior
Hannah Parker (Altoona, Iowa) entered the circle for one strikeout to retire the final batter for the Shockers.
Key Stat
7 – Corrick struck out seven batters and threw 67 strikes in 90 pitches.
Notable
- USF remains in the race for the conference title. With just one win, the Bulls will be American Athletic Conference Co-Champions in the regular season, and two wins clinches the title outright.

The Bulls will take on the Shockers at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Fans can enjoy festive beverage options for Cinco de Mayo, and the first 250 fans will receive a free Under Armour wristband. The series finale will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday where USF will honor eight seniors prior to first pitch.
