USA Softball Opens International Cup with Back-to-Back No-Hitters

IRVINE, Calif. (June 13, 2018) – The USA Softball Women's National Team opened play at the International Cup with a pair of shutout no-hitters over Czech Republic and Peru.
 
USF and USA head coach Ken Eriksen leads the World Championship roster (USA Red) in Pool A at the International Cup, alongside the Japan All-Star Series roster (USA Blue), competing in Pool B. Each team finished day one of tournament with a run-rule victory and a no-hitter.
 
USA Blue started Pool B against Czech Republic. Team USA capped the game in three innings after scoring an impressive 15 runs on 12 hits.
 
USA Red started Pool A against Peru in another exciting showing. After a pair of scoreless innings, the Eagles soared ahead with an incredible nine-run burst in the third frame. USA added five more in the fourth inning to end the game in a run-rule victory.
 
The Eagles continue their journey today with USA Blue taking on Venezuela at 4:30 p.m., and USA Red taking on China at 7 p.m. Both games will be streamed live HERE.
