USF Baseball High School Showcase Set for August 4

TAMPA, Fla., JULY 17, 2018 – The USF baseball program will host its annual high school showcase camp on August 4.
 
The purpose of the camp is to give each player the best possible chance to display their talents in front of the USF coaching staff as well as other two-year and four-year college coaches from the state of Florida. This will be done through instruction, showcase style workouts and live games to conclude the day.
 
The camps will take place at the USF Baseball Stadium, located on the main campus of USF, 12434 USF Sycamore Drive Tampa, Florida.
 
Players will need a bat, glove, hat, and batting helmet. Catchers must bring their own gear. A certified medical trainer from the USF athletic training staff will be present during every camp.
 
A medical waiver should be filled and brought to camp prior to check-in. Download Waiver Here.
 
Parents, whether dropping off or staying for the day must park on the street behind the right field fence. Those who park in the USF Sun Dome parking lot are subject to ticketing and/or being towed.

About USF Baseball    
The University of South Florida baseball team is one of the fastest rising programs in the country. The Bulls reached the NCAA Regionals in 2015 for the first time in 13 years and followed that success with a 42-19 record and second NCAA regional trip in three years in 2017. The Bulls continued the success under first-year head coach Billy Mohl in 2018, reaching 36 wins and advancing to the semifinals of the conference tournament for the first time since 2012, while being ranked in multiple polls since mid-April. USF earned its third NCAA Regional berth in the last four seasons and had six all-conference selections in 2018. The team had four players drafted in the 2018 MLB Draft, including the program's fourth first rounder Shane McClanahan. Junior third baseman David Villar was taken in the 11^th round after tallying 24 doubles and hitting better than .370, being named a first team all-conference and to a pair of All-America lists. The USF Baseball program has won five conference titles and the Bulls have made 13 NCAA appearances.
