Men’s Soccer to Face Eastern Florida in Exhibition

TAMPA, Aug. 13, 2018 –The University of South Florida men's soccer team will kick off preseason competition with an exhibition contest against Eastern Florida State College on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. at the USF Track and Field Stadium.
Fans can find parking in Lot 6, and enjoy free admission to the match.
The men's soccer team returned to campus on Aug. 7 to begin preseason training, and will have two exhibition tests, Tuesday's matchup against EFSC and a contest at the University of Tampa on Saturday, Aug. 18.
The Bulls, who finished 6-6-4 in 2017, return 16 players, 14 of which saw starts last season, and add nine freshmen to the roster. Returning for the Bulls is 2017 AAC Rookie of the Year
Adrian Billhardt (Berlin, Germany) and senior Goalkeeper
Christian Knight (Odessa, Fla.).
USF men's soccer is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I poll and has a
loaded schedule in 2018, including seven contests at home at Corbett Stadium.
The Opponent
In exhibition play Tuesday night, the Bulls will face EFSC, who was ranked No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches NJCAA Division I preseason poll. The Titans finished 12-3 last season and most recently faced off against UCF in an exhibition match, where the Knights won 4-1.

USF men's soccer will host an open practice on Friday, Aug. 17 at 6 p.m., where Bulls fans, USF students and alumni may come and watch practice, meet the team, take photos and enjoy the soccer atmosphere in the preseason.
The Bulls will make the short trip across I-275 to take on the University of Tampa on Saturday Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Pepin Stadium. Before the Bulls and Spartans face off for the annually awarded Rowdies Cup, an alumni game will take place between the two programs at 5:30 p.m. to make for an exciting night in Tampa Bay soccer. The match versus Tampa will serve as a homecoming of sorts for
Bob Butehorn who played for Tampa and won a national championship with the Spartans in 1984.

The Bulls concluded the 2017 regular season with a 6-6-4 overall record and finished fifth in the American Athletic Conference with a 3-2-2 mark. Head Coach Bob Butehorn leads the Bulls in his second season at the helm in 2018.
