Men’s Soccer To Host Fan Friendly Events in 2018

Register to play in USF Alumni Game
TAMPA, August 2, 2018
– USF men's soccer will host and participate in multiple fan friendly events in the coming weeks in preparation for the 2018 season, including 2018 Fan Fest Presented by Florida Blue and an annual alumni game against the University of Tampa.

2018 USF Fan Fest Presented by Florida Blue, Aug. 11
On Saturday Aug. 11, men's soccer will make an appearance at the 2018 USF Fan Fest Presented by Florida Blue activities, signing autographs and greeting fans in the Yuengling Center. The event is free for fans and gates open at 1 p.m. with free parking available in the 22 series lots surrounding the Yuengling Center. Men's soccer will be signing autographs until 2 p.m. and fans are encouraged to enter through Gate A.

Exhibition Match vs. Eastern Florida State College, Aug. 14
On Tuesday Aug. 14, USF will host Eastern Florida State College in an exhibition match at 7 p.m. at Corbett Stadium. The event is free to the public and will provide fans with a first look into the 2018 roster, including nine newcomers and a race for the starting goalkeeper position.

Open Practice, Practice Fields, Aug. 17
The Bulls will also host an open practice on Friday, Aug. 17 at Corbett Stadium, where fans, students and alumni are invited to come and view the players' training session, meet and greet coaches and players and interact with the team. The open practice at 6 p.m. will kick off the weekend for the annual Rowdies Cup.

Exhibition Match vs. University of Tampa, Rowdies Cup, Aug. 18
USF will travel down I-275 to face the University of Tampa in an exhibition friendly at 7:30 p.m on Saturday Aug. 18. The winner of the match will have rights to the Rowdies Cup for the next year, which USF currently possesses after defeating Tampa 3-2 in 2017. This year's game serves as a homecoming of sorts for USF head coach Bob Butehorn, who played soccer at Tampa ('85) and won a national championship with the Spartans in 1981.

Alumni Match vs. University of Tampa
Prior to the exhibition match on Aug. 18, USF men's soccer alumni and University of Tampa men's soccer alumni will suit up once again for an alumni game between the two programs at 5 p.m. The alumni game serves as a great opportunity for the men's soccer alumni of the two Tampa Bay universities to sink in nostalgia and face off on the pitch once more. USF men's soccer alumni are invited to register to participate, even if they do not intend to play. Food and drink will be provided for alumni players post-game.

USF men's soccer kicks off the 2018 season at Michigan State on Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. The Bulls will host seven games at home this season, including a two-game weekend over Labor Day when Virginia Tech (Aug. 31) and Creighton (Sept. 3) visit Corbett Stadium. View the complete schedule here.

Season tickets are available for men's soccer for $35, or $28 for USF staff, faculty and alumni. Season ticket holders will receive a commemorative 2018 season scarf. Fans may purchase tickets by visiting USFBullsTix.com or calling 1-800-GO-BULLS. Single game tickets are also available for $5 per game. Group experiences are available by calling 1-800-GO-BULLS.
