NEW ORLEANS, La., SEPTEMBER 30, 2018 – The USF Volleyball team completed its third-straight straight-sets victory with a win at Tulane Sunday afternoon. (25-23, 25-21, 27-25).
The Bulls (13-3, 2-1 The American) were led by senior
Clara Payne (Osteen, Fla.) with a match high 11 kills on a .348 hitting percentage. Junior
Jac'cara Walker (Gainesville, Fla.) had 10 kills and 11 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Freshman
Lauren LaBeck (Chicago) had 25 assists and 14 digs.
After USF led for most of the first set (25-23), and the second (25-21), it led 7-2 early in the third. The Green Wave (12-7, 0-4 The American) started to creep back and tied things at 12-12. Tied at 15-15, Tulane went on a 7-1 scoring run to take a 22-16 edge. The Bulls stormed back to tie it at 24-24. A
Lindsey Pliapol (Daytona Beach, Fla.) and Payne kill gave USF match point twice, as the team was able to complete the comeback and straight-sets victory.

Senior setter Briana Stowell finished second on the team in 2017 with 243 assists and averaged 22.3 per match in the final month of the year. The Bulls are welcoming six new faces to the roster, with five talented freshmen and a skilled outside hitter coming from Marshall University.
