Gonzalez Earns First Player of the Week Honors in The American

Nick Gonzalez was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Gonzalez (Tampa) exploded onto the collegiate baseball scene, hitting .500 (7-for-14) with a homer, three RBI and four runs during USF's opening series win against the defending SOCON champion Samford.
Gonzalez began his USF career with a three-run homer in his first collegiate at-bat. He went on to have two hits in each of the first two games of the weekend. The freshman led the Bulls with three singles during Sunday's rubber match, scoring two runs in a 4-1 win. Â Â Â Â
