
USF Prepares for No. 3 Mississippi State

The Bulls head to Starkville, Miss., to play No. 3 Mississippi State, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m.
TAMPA, FEB. 2, 2019– Men's tennis prepares for No. 3 Mississippi State after a 6-1 defeat by No. 11 Baylor in Waco, Tx.
USF (2-3) is on the road for its fifth straight road match of the season, coming off a performance this Friday that saw No. 43 Alberto Barroso-Campos defeat No. 33 in the nation Johannes Schretter of Baylor in singles.
The last time the two teams faced off was in the 2018 season opener, where although the Bulldogs left victorious, 5-2, unranked Barroso-Campos defeated No. 29 Giovanni Oradini in singles, 6-4, 7-5. Barroso-Campos also had a big win in the 2017 Bulls' home opener against No. 16 at the time Mississippi State, defeating Strahinja Rakic 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

Mississippi State remains No. 3 in the nation, continuing their 2019 season with a 3-0 record. Matt Roberts starts his fourth season as head coach, bringing a career record of 82-29.
No. 11 Nuno Borges returns to the Bulldogs for his senior campaign, carrying an 89-21 career singles record, and going 56-12 in doubles. Last season, Borges was named to the ITA All-American Doubles team and was an NCAA Singles Semifinalist.
Fellow Bulldog, No. 67 Niclaus Braun continues his senior season with a 70-34 singles record, and 45-19 in doubles after being named ITA Southern Regional Singles Champion in 2018.The Bulls will play Mississippi State at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Center, located in Starksville, Miss., Feb. 3 at 1 p.m.
