Scouting the Opponent
FGCU is 7-5 this season and has played all but three games on its home field. The Eagles are led by the current ASUN pitcher of the week Riley Randolph who went 2-0 last weekend in (both complete games) with a 0.00 ERA. Randolph, who holds a 5-2 record this season, currently owns an ERA of 0.15 and has only conceded one earned run through seven appearances and 47.0 innings pitched in the circle.
Offensively, FGCU looks to junior outfielder Sammi Poehlman and junior first baseman Racquel Fournet. Poelman is .360 at the plate (9-for-25) and has 13 total bases with three RBI. Fournet is .324 at the plate in 12 starts this season. She is 12-for-37 with 16 total bases and four RBI.
USF is 8-4 against the Eagles in the all-time series. Last season the teams met in Ft. Myers, Fla., for a midweek doubleheader where FGCU claimed a pair of victories, 1-0 and 4-1, snapping USF's eight-game streak against the Eagles.
