TAMPA, Feb. 9, 2019 – USF men's tennis stayed perfect at home, 2-0, after it swept Stetson at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts on Saturday morning.

USF (3-4) took down the Hatters (2-3) for the first time since 2015. USF clinched the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Alberto Barroso-Campos (Montijo, Spain) and Pierre Luquet (Draguignan, France) won, 6-0, on the top court, followed by Chase Ferguson (Melbourne, Australia) and Jakub Wojcik (Delray Beach, Fla.) on court three, 6-1.

No. 19 Barroso-Campos cleaned up court one in a 6-1, 6-3, straight-set win to double the Bulls lead, and improve his record to 6-1. Wojcik picked up a win on court three, 6-4, 6-2, and Ivan Yatsuk (Minsk, Belarus) clinched the match with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 win on court four.

Match play continued with Sergio Gomez Montesa (Valencia, Spain) who extended his career singles record to 4-3 when he won in three sets on court five, 6-4, 2-6, 6-0. Luquet added the sixth point of the match in a 7-6 (2), 6-2 take down on court two.

Tobias Sonne (Buenos Aires, Argentina) recorded his first career singles win when he defeated Christian Mills, 7-6 (3), 7(5) on court six.
