Corrick Named The American Pitcher of the Week for Second Week this Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I., March 4, 2019 – After an undefeated 4-0 week in the circle, USF sophomore Georgina Corrick was named The American Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) recorded four complete games this week, extending her winning streak to nine games, and reached double-digit strikeouts three times. The right-handed pitcher registered 43 total strikeouts, setting a new single-game career high at 14 against Western Michigan on Sunday, just four days after matching her career high (12) against FGCU.
 
Corrick limited opponents to five earned runs over the week for a 1.25 ERA through four games, and she allowed just 14 hits and seven walks in 28 innings. Three of Corrick's walks were intentional.
 
Corrick currently leads The American in strikeouts (78) and victories (9) and ranks third in ERA (1/24), hits per seven innings (4.06) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.88). Nationally, she ranks eighth in victories and 21st in strikeouts.
 
Up Next
