Bulls Finish Competition at Tom Jones Memorial

GAINESVILLE, FLA., APRIL 27, 2019Brittany Krug finished second in the javelin throw and Mitchell Mueller placed second in the pole vault to highlight competition for the USF track and field team this weekend at the Tom Jones Memorial hosted by the University of Florida.

Krug (Loretto, Pa.) posted a distance of 150-10.00 in the javelin throw and Mueller (Algonac, Mich.) recorded a height of 16-4.75 in the pole vault as the duo were the top finishers for the Bulls. Sophomore Seth Musselman (St. Cloud, Fla.) took eighth in the pole vault with a height of 15-11.00.

Senior Kirby Powers (Orange Park, Fla.) turned in a sixth-place showing in the high jump with a height of 5-5.00, while junior Nicole Carroll (Land O' Lakes, Fla.) placed third in the pole vault with a height of 12-7.50. Senior Kennedy Shank (Dillsburg, Pa.) and freshman Karen Lyvers (Bradenton, Fla.) tied for seventh in the event with heights of 11-1.75.

Senior Randall Ceneus (Birmingham, Ala.) recorded the seventh-fastest outdoor time in school history in the 400 meters with a mark of 47.65 seconds on his way to placing 17th. Junior Yohance Haynes (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) took eighth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:52.51.

Distance runner Matt Neeley (St. John's, Fla.) finished in fourth place in the 3000 meter steeplechase with his time of 10:37.03.

In field events, freshman Hunter Hummel (Kissimmee, Fla.) placed eighth in the discus throw with a distance of 155-7.00, while senior Bruce Robinson (Little Falls, N.Y.) was sixth in the hammer throw with his distance of 176-5.00.

USF returns to action May 10-12 when the Bulls travel to Wichita, Kan., to take part in the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.
