Listen to Bulls Beat
Bulls fans can get their daily USF news each morning on Bulls Beat. Darek Sharp hosts a half-hour show filled with exclusive interviews, highlights, full recaps and game previews on all USF sports teams. Bulls Beat can be heard each weekday on Bulls Unlimited, a channel devoted to USF sports 24/7. Search USF on the IHeart Radio app to download the channel. The show repeats each half hour from 7-10 every morning, with an additional airing at 12:30 p.m.

Bulls Weekly Highlights
  • Former USF football standout Austin Reiter is headed to Super Bowl LIV after starting at center for Kansas City in the Chiefs' 35-24 victory over Tennessee in the AFC Championship Game.
  • USF women's tennis (1-0) hosts Stetson on Monday at 1 p.m. before the Bulls begin competition at ITA Kickoff Weekend on Saturday in California.
  • USF men's basketball hosts No. 22 Wichita State (Tuesday, 7 p.m.) before a road game at No. 25/24 Houston (Sunday, 2 p.m.).
  • USF women's basketball continues conference play at Wichita State (Wednesday, 7:30 p.m.) and hosts Tulane (Saturday, 2 p.m.).
  • USF men's tennis (3-0) starts its ITA Kickoff Weekend run in Gainesville, Fla., against Fresno State (Saturday, 11 a.m.).
  • Recent graduate Evelyne Viens was chosen fifth overall by Sky Blue FC in the 2020 NWSL Draft, the highest selection of a USF women's soccer player in program history.
  • USF Athletics saw 251 of its 416 student-athletes earn Athletics Honor Roll accolades following the 2019 fall term. USF Athletics posted a term grade-point average over 3.0 for a record 10th straight semester.
  • The latest episode of USF Vice President of Athletics Michael Kelly's Bull Speed Ahead podcast was released late last week. Listen HERE.

TAMPA, JAN. 20, 2020 – Take a look ahead at the week in USF Athletics and catch up on last week's news:

Football
Austin Reiter Super BowlLast Week: Former USF standout Austin Reiter started at center for Kansas City in the Chiefs' 35-24 victory over Tennessee in the AFC Championship on Jan. 19. Reiter is the 12th player in USF history to be on a Super Bowl team. Kansas City will take on San Francisco in Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. in Miami Gardens… Record-breaking tight end Mitchell Wilcox participated in the 95th East-West Shrine Bowl that took place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg on Jan. 18… Safety Devin Studstill totaled four tackles for the National Team in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 18 at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif.

Need to Know: Head coach Jeff Scott's new USF coaching staff includes Glenn Spencer (defensive coordinator/LBs), Charlie Weis Jr. (offensive coordinator/QBs), Da'Quan Bowers (defensive line), Daniel Da Prato (special teams coordinator), Xavier Dye (wide receivers), Joey King (tight ends), Allen Mogridge (offensive line), Jules Montinar (cornerbacks), Pat White (running backs) and Wes Neighbors (safeties)… National Signing Day 2020 is set for Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Women's Basketball (10-8, 2-2)
This Week: USF continues conference play at Wichita State on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Catch the action on the American Digital Network… The Bulls return to the Yuengling Center to host Tulane on Saturday at 2 p.m. Fans can call/text 1-800-Go-Bulls or visit USFBullsTix.com to purchase mini plans and single-game tickets.

Elisa PinzanLast Week: Sophomore Elisa Pinzan set a career high with seven made three-pointers in 12 attempts and matched her personal best with 23 points in a 64-57 War on I-4 setback against UCF on Jan. 19… Rallying USF dropped an 18-point deficit in the second half all the way down to two before its three-game winning streak was snapped with a 69-66 loss at Temple on Jan. 16.

Men's Basketball (8-10, 1-4)
This Week: USF hosts No. 22 Wichita State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Fans can call/text 1-800-Go-Bulls or visit USFBullsTix.com to purchase mini plans and single-game tickets… The Bulls travel to Texas for a matchup against No. 25/24 Houston that's set for Sunday at 2 p.m. (TV: CBS Sports Network).

Laquincy RideauLast Week: Justin Brown's three-pointer with 2:14 remaining in the game gave USF a 54-49 lead before the Bulls dropped a 55-54 decision against rival UCF in a War on I-4 matchup in Orlando on Jan. 18.

No. 12 Women's Soccer
Ev with coaches at NWSL DraftLast Week: Recent USF graduate Evelyne Viens was chosen fifth overall by Sky Blue FC in the 2020 NWSL Draft, the highest selection of a women's soccer player in program history. Viens is the second-highest draft pick in USF Athletics history, a spot she holds along with Wanda Guyton, who was selected at No. 5 overall in the 1997 WNBA Draft. Learn more HERE.

Need to Know: Evelyne Viens (Canada), Chyanne Dennis (Jamaica) and Ricquelle Farquharson (Jamaica) were named to provisional rosters ahead of the 2020 Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Championship that begins Tuesday, Jan. 28. Find out more HERE.

Women's Tennis (1-0)
This Week: USF's rescheduled home match against Stetson takes place Monday at 1 p.m. Admission is free at the USF Varsity Courts… The Bulls begin their run of ITA Kickoff Weekend matches on Saturday against host Stanford at 2 p.m. (EST). Sunday's match against a to-be-determined opponent is set for 2 p.m. (EST).

Last Week: USF started its spring season in stride with a 7-0 home victory over Cornell on Jan. 17.

Elizabeth JonesNeed to Know: USF's memorial service for honorary team member Elizabeth Jones has been rescheduled for March 8, prior to the home match against Lehigh at noon. Jones inspired the Bulls with her optimism while battling an incurable lung disease and passed away at the age of 12 on Aug. 8, 2019. Learn more about USF's "Team Warrior" HERE.

Men's Tennis (3-0)
This Week: USF travels to Gainesville, Fla., for ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Bulls will face Fresno State on Saturday at 11 a.m. Sunday's match time and opponent have yet to be determined.

Last Week: USF posted a 6-1 win over East Tennessee State on Jan. 18 and cruised to a 7-0 victory over Florida Atlantic on Jan. 19 in Boca Raton, Fla.

Need to Know: The next ITA team rankings will be released on Wednesday HERE… The Bulls' first home match of the spring season against Mississippi State is set for Friday, Jan. 31 at 1:30 p.m.

About USF Athletics
USF Athletics sponsors 19 varsity men's and women's teams that compete in 11 different sports, 18 at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls' athletic program began in 1965 and is in its 54th season in 2019-20. Nearly 450 student-athletes train and compete in the athletic district located on the east end of the campus in Tampa, Fla. The Bulls have claimed 19 American Athletic Conference team titles since joining the conference in 2013, and own 120 conference titles overall. Eleven USF programs reached national postseason competition in the 2018-19 season and six were ranked in the Top 25 nationally. The Bulls posted a combined annual grade-point average over 3.0 for the fourth straight year in 2018-19 and have posted a program record 10 straight semesters with a combined GPA over 3.0. USF has had 309 student-athletes earn their degree since 2016-17.
