WICHITA, Kan. (Jan. 22, 2020) – The University of South Florida women's basketball team used a 17-7 run to close out Wichita State, as the Bulls rallied to a hard-fought, 56-50 win over the Shockers on Wednesday night. USF improved to 11-8 overall and 3-2 in The American, while Wichita State fell to 11-8 and 3-3 in the AAC. The win snapped the Green and Gold's two-game losing streak.

Bethy Mununga (Zellik, Belgium) led the way for USF with 13 points and 15 rebounds, for her seventh double-double of her career. Kristyna Brabencova (Brno, Czech Republic) added 11 points, and Elisa Pinzan (Murrano, Italy) chipped in with nine points, along with seven assists and a career-high-tying five steals.

USF dominated in pretty much every statistical category, but found themselves trailing by as many as seven in the third quarter, a period that saw the Shockers close on a 19-7 run to take a 40-34 advantage into the fourth.

The Bulls came out in the final stanza and turned the tables on Wichita State, closing out the Shockers during a stretch that included a 17-1 run, to give USF its biggest lead of the contest, 54-44. The run was capped by a driving layup by Brabencova with just under two minutes left to put the game out of reach.

Henshaw played in her 120^th career game on Wednesday at Wichita State … She is currently tied with Rachel Sheats (2003-07) and Porche Grant (2006-09, 10-11) for 11th all-time in school history.
