Bulls Earn First Win of Season at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C., Jan. 23, 2021?– The University of South Florida men's tennis won a well fought battle against Clemson, earning the squad's first victory of the 2021 campaign. The Bulls secured the doubles point and three singles courts in the 4-3 win. 
 
The No. 21-ranked doubles duo of Jakub Wojcik (Delray Beach, Fla.) and Rithvik Bollipalli (Hyderabad, India) captured their second win of the season with a 7-5 victory over Clemson's Jacob Jahn and Ryuhei Azuma. The No. 38 pair of Chase Ferguson (Melbourne, Australia) and Pierre Luquet (Draguignan, France) earned the point with a 7-5 win over Yizhou Liu and Jorge Plans Gonzalez. 
 
With the doubles point in hand, the Bulls secured the win with three victories in singles. Alvin Tudorica (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) defeated Jahn on court six in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5. Luquet pushed it to match point with a three-set, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1, win over Plans Gonzalez on court three. Ferguson secured the Bulls first win of the year with a 7-5, 7-6 (2), straight-set victory over Liu on court one.
