USF Returns to Corbett For a Big AAC Match Against Memphis on Breast Cancer Awareness Night

TAMPA (Oct. 14, 2021) – The University of South Florida men's soccer team returns to Corbett Stadium for the first of two straight matches on its pitch when it faces Memphis on Friday. The kickoff is at 7 p.m.  
 
The Bulls look for their second consecutive American Athletic Conference win after defeating Temple, 3-0, on Oct. 9 in Philadelphia. In addition, Friday night will be Breast Cancer Awareness Night at Corbett Stadium.

THE SERIES VS. MEMPHIS
- USF and Memphis will meet for the 26th time on Saturday, with the Bulls leading in the all-time series, 16-5-4 ... The last meeting between the two sides came on April 2, 2021, with the Tigers coming out on top, 2-1 in double overtime.
 
- This will be the Bulls and Tigers' first meeting of the season … The two sides will meet again in Memphis on Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. ET ... USF is 12-4-1 in home games against Memphis.

- Memphis comes into its match with USF, 4-6-1 on the year, and 3-2 in The American ... The Tigers are coming off a 3-2 double-overtime win over SMU on Saturday night ... Memphis has three straight conference wins leading up to its game with USF, after starting the season 1-6-1 overall.
 
- Maximillian Galizzi and Artur DeLuca lead the Tigers in scoring with fifteen points (6g, 3a) and seven points (3g, 1a), respectively.

- Following Friday's match against Memphis, the Bulls will face No. 24/14 SMU at Corbett Stadium on Oct. 22 ... Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
 
- Following its game against SMU, the Bulls hit the road for the second edition of War on I-4 at UCF on Oct. 27, at 7 p.m.
 
CORBETT ATTENDANCE POLICY
- For the first time since Nov. 9, 2019, Corbett Stadium will return to full-capacity seating for fans, a stretch of 647-days entering USF's season-opening match against Jacksonville on Aug. 26.

USF Men's Soccer competed in the school's first ever intercollegiate athletic contest on Sept. 25, 1965, beating Florida Southern 4-3. Since then, the oldest program on campus has built a winning tradition, claiming 14 conference championships and making 21 NCAA Tournament appearances, including 3 trips to the elite eight.

USF Soccer concluded the 2020 season with four players earning AAC honors, highlighted by first first-team selection Josue Monge and Salvatore Mazzaferro who was tabbed a second-team selection. Also, Oscar Resano and Brian Schaefer were named to the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team. Head coach Bob Butehorn returns to lead USF in his fifth season on the sidelines.
