Bulls drop first road game at Boston College, 64-49

The Eagles are the first team this season to score over 60 points against USF.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (November 29, 2021) – Playing in their first true road game of the season on Monday night, the University of South Florida Bulls (3-3) suffered a 64-49 setback to Boston College (5-3) as the Eagles remained undefeated at home this season.

Boston College entered the tilt as one of the top rebounding teams in the country (+9.3 rebound margin), but saw South Florida dominate the glass with a 41-32 advantage, including 15 offensive boards. Unfortunately, the Bulls only converted four second-chance points in a sluggish offensive effort.

USF endured a pair of droughts that lasted over six minutes in the contest without a field goal as the Bulls shot just 35.7 percent on the night.

The Eagles carried a 30-24 advantage into halftime and built their lead up to double digits early in the second half. Russel Tchewa (Douala, Cameroon) stuffed home a dunk at the 8:13 mark to cut the Boston College lead to 46-40 before the Bulls went scoreless from the field until DJ Patrick (Powder Springs, Ga.) connected on a three-pointer with 1:54 left to play in the contest.
