Corrick Earns Back-to-Back AAC Pitcher of the Week Honors
TAMPA, FLA. March 29, 2021 – University of South Florida junior pitcher Georgina Corrick received her fourth American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honor of the season, the league announced on Monday.
Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) went 3-0 with a save in last week's games, including series against Memphis and North Florida. Overall, she threw 23.1 innings, only allowing 10 hits and zero earned runs while striking out 27 batters.
In the doubleheader against North Florida, Corrick pitched 10.0 innings, earning the win in game two and tossing nine strikeouts. Against Memphis, she made three appearances, throwing 13.1 innings and striking out 18 batters.
AnaMarie Bruni (Schwenksville, Pa.) was also named to the conference's weekly honor roll. She finished last week 7-for-12 at the plate, scoring eight runs and stealing nine bases. On Sunday, Bruni stole her 82nd career base, passing Kristen Wyckoff and setting a new conference record while moving up to No. 2 on USF's all-time list.
USF softball takes its first road trip of the season this weekend as the team heads to Houston for a four-game series against the Cougars.
