Feb. 26, 2021 – The University of South Florida softball team hosts the No. 2 team in the country this weekend as the Arizona Wildcats visit USF Softball Stadium for a two-game set. Game one will be played on Saturday, March 6 at 1 p.m. and the weekend wrap-up will feature a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday, March 7.
Â
Due to virus mitigation measures and the size of the venue, fan attendance at USF Softball Stadium will be via team pass list only. All regular-season home games during the 2021 season will be broadcast on the ESPN+ platform.
Â
Arizona holds a 12-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Bulls won the last meeting in 2019, a 2-1 victory in Tucson, Ariz. The Wildcats' last win also came in 2019, a 2-1 win in Tampa.
Â
USF is coming off a 2-1 weekend series win against Florida Atlantic.
Georgina Corrick (Sanford, Fla.), who was named The American Pitcher of the Week for the second week in a row, threw 37 strikeouts over 17 innings in the circle, allowing only one run in a 1-1 weekend where she also posted a save. In the batter's box, Corrick was just as effective, hitting two home runs in the first game of the series.

Arizona enters the weekend ranked No. 2/3 in the nation and holds an undefeated, 10-0 record so far this season. The Wildcats are coming off a 5-0 weekend at the Wildcat Invitational, with wins over BYU, Oregon State, Colorado State and Seattle.

Arizona is led on offense by redshirt senior Dejah Mulipola (.444, 4 HR, 18 RBI) and Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza (.433, 2 HR, 10 RBI). In the circle, redshirt seniors Alyssa Denham (24.0 IP, 0.29 ERA) and Mariah Lopez (19.0 IP, 1.84 ERA) have handled the bulk of the Wildcats innings so far this season.
