Brauckmuller leads women’s golf at Brickyard Collegiate

MACON, Ga. (April 6, 2021) – Senior Shelby Brauckmuller (Auburndale) carded the second-lowest score of any player in the field at the Brickyard Collegiate in Tuesday's final round, a 70 (-2), to vault up the individual leaderboard and help lead USF to a 10th place team finish.
 
As a team, the Bulls totaled a score of 936 with rounds of 315, 314 and 307 in the 14-team field. No. 26 UCF won the two-day event with a 54-hole score of 892.

Brauckmuller shot rounds of 75 (+3) and 81 (+9) on Monday before firing her lowest round of the season (70) in Tuesday's finale to finish tied for 10th individually (226). The senior entered the final round in 31st place on the leaderboard before carding four birdies, two bogies and 12 pars on Tuesday.
 
Jessica Whitting (Perth, Australia) tied for 31st individually with a 54-hole total of 223. The redshirt junior tallied scores of 79, 77 and 77. Freshman Melanie Green (Medina, N.Y.) was next with a score of 233 (80, 75, 85) to tie for 51st place.
 
Freshman Erika Smith (Orlando) tied for 60th with scores of 81, 81 and 82 (224). Playing in her first tournament of the season, Ramya Meenakshisundaram (Jacksonville) tied for 66th. The sophomore carded rounds of 84 and 85 on Monday, and closed with a 78 Tuesday for a total of 247.
 
The Bulls will utilize the week to prepare for the American Athletic Conference Championship which is set for April 18-20. The AAC Championship will be played at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C.
 
About USF Women's Golf
The Bulls are in their third season under head coach Erika Brennan in 2020-21. USF is among the fastest rising program in the country, as they climbed 75 spots in the national Golfstat rankings following Brennan's first season. The Bulls won two tournaments in 2018-19 and set several program records, including season scoring average (293.43) and team rounds of par or better (6), and in 2019-20 the Bulls posted a wire-to-wire win at the Old Friends Invitational, marking the program's third tournament title since spring 2019.
