Biography
SPRING 2021: Played in all five tournaments…recorded a scoring average of 77…logged two top-25 finishes…tied for 24th at the FAU Paradise Invitational with a season-best score of 222 and placed 24th at the American Championship…carded season-low rounds of 73 at each of those two events.
SPRING 2020:
AAC All-Academic Team... Finished the season as the team leader in scoring average (73.76), rounds of par or better (7), top-10 finishes (3) and top-25 performances (4)... Named AAC Women's Golfer of the Week on Feb. 19, one day after capturing her first career title and leading host USF to a 20-shot, wire-to-wire win at the Old Friends Invitational. Carded three straight under-par scores (71-71-70) to finish with a 4-under 212 in her nine-shot victory at Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club... Earned two total top-five finishes in seven total events throughout the shortened season... Followed up her win at the Old Friends Invitational with a tie for 10th place at the Florida State Match-Up (March 1)... Was in the lineup for all 21 of the team's rounds this season.
FALL 2019: Led the Bulls in scoring average (73.1), rounds of par or better (4) and top-25 finishes (2) and also tied tops on the team with one top-10 performance... Set USF’s low-round record and tied the top mark for low round vs. par with a 6-under 64 in the final round of the Princess Anne Invitational (Oct. 6). Smith also reached a new program milestone for 54-hole scoring with a 207 on the way to tying for fifth in the 82-player field at the Princess Anne Invitational... Competed in all 12 of the Bulls’ rounds.
PRIOR TO USF: Member of the 2018 Rolex All-America Second Team... Earned four varsity letters at Lake Nona High School... 2016 state champion who was the state runner-up as a junior... Won the AJGA's 2019 E-Z-GO Vaughn Taylor Championship with a 2-under 214 final score after carding a hole-in-one on her third-to-last hole to take the lead. Shot a 2-under 70 in the second round... Has earned AJGA full exempt status...Won the 2018 AJGA TeensGiv.org Girls Championship... Qualified for the 2019 PGA Junior Championship and 2019 USGA Girls Championship, where she tied for eighth in stroke play and advanced to the round of 32 in match play...Highest Rolex ranking was No. 14.
PERSONAL: Born on April 3, 2001 in Seoul, South Korea... Daughter of Jung and Marty Smith... Majoring in business management... Arrived at USF with 60 credits after taking all honors and AP classes in high school.
