ORLANDO, Fla. May 9, 2021 – The University of South Florida softball team dropped the weekend finale to the UCF Knights on Sunday, 2-0.
Vivian Ponn (Fort Myers, Fla.) pitched 4.1 shutout innings in relief, only allowing four hits while also recording a strikeout.
The Knights plated the game-winning run in the bottom of the second, as Kyra Klarkowski hit a two-run home run to left field. A pitching duel ensued for the remainder of the game, cementing the final score at 2-0 in favor of UCF.

USF travels to Tulsa, Okla. for the American Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed. The Bulls will play in the last game of the day on May 13 against the seven-seeded Memphis. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
