No. 24 USF Looks to Get back on the Court at Tulane on Wednesday

TAMPA (Jan. 11, 2022) – The University of South Florida women's basketball team looks to get back on the hardwood on Wednesday as the Bulls travel to New Orleans to face Tulane at Fogelman Arena. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. ET with the game airing on ESPN+.
 
South Florida had its second game in the past three postponed on Sunday when there were COVID-19 concerns within the Wichita State program. The Bulls' original conference opener against Memphis, scheduled for Jan. 2 at the Yuengling Center, was postponed due to health and safety protocols within the South Florida program.
 
The Bulls, ranked 24th in this week's Associated Press and USA Today/WBCA Coaches top-25 polls, looks for their seventh win in their last eight games, and 19th-straight against the Green Wave.
 
Elena Tsineke leads two players in double-digits in the scoring column, netting 13.9 points per game, and is sixth in The American in scoring. Sydni Harvey is also averaging double digits, scoring 11.2 points per outing.  
 
Bethy Mununga (9.9 ppg), Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu (9.7 ppg), and Elisa Pinzan (9.7 ppg) are all just shy of averaging double-figure points per game.
 
Mununga also leads The American, and is seventh in the nation, averaging 11.8 rebounds per game, and is tops in the conference and third in the nation in total rebounds (177), while Pinzan leads the conference, and 13th in the nation in assists per contest dishing out 5.9 per outing and is first in total assists (83) which is good enough for ninth in the nation.

The Bulls posted a 19-4 record and had five players, during the 2020-21 campaign, the Bulls had five players recognized by The American for impressive seasons, including Elisa Pinzan (Most Improved Player, All-Conference Second Team), Maria Alvarez (Co-Sixth Player of the Year), Bethy Mununga (All-Conference First Team), Elena Tsineke (All-Conference First Team), and Sydni Harvey (All-Conference Third Team).
 
In addition, Harvey was named the American Athletic Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player and to the All-Tournament Team, while Mununga and Tsineke were also All-Tournament selections.
