HOUSTON, Texas (January 17, 2022) – The University of South Florida Bulls square off against nationally-ranked Houston for the second time in two weeks on the road on Tuesday night.

The Cougars have won seven straight overall and are undefeated (9-0) at home this season.

South Florida is coming off an impressive wire-to-wire blowout of rival UCF, 75-51, on Saturday where the Bulls snapped a four-game skid and notched their first conference win of the year.

USF will look to carry that momentum into its first win over the Cougars since 2016 in Houston. The Bulls are also aiming for their first win over a ranked opponent since 2012. Tuesday's tilt will be USF's fourth game this year against a team ranked or receiving votes in the Top 25.

Javon Greene led the Bulls with a season-high 19 points again UCF on Saturday after knocking down five triples to match a career high. Greene is averaging 10.5 points per game this season just behind Caleb Murphy (11.9 ppg).

Jamir Chaplin has been USF's hottest offensive player of late and has scored in double digits five games in a row. The third-year guard is averaging 14.8 ppg after scoring a career-high 17 in two straight games recently. Chaplin led all AAC players last week by shooting 55.6 percent from the field (10-18).

The Bulls will look to slow Houston's Josh Carlton who scored 30 points in the last meeting as the Cougars dominated the paint, 42-22, and won the rebounding battle, 40-31.

USF enters the game ranked 32nd in the NCAA in scoring defense (62.2 ppg) which ranks second in the American behind Houston (57.9).
