USF Volleyball claims five-set win against Memphis

The Bulls accomplish several new career records and additional double-doubles.

Tampa, Fla. (November 4, 2022) – The University of South Florida Bulls (9-14, 3-8 AAC) took their second conference win in a row after a five-set battle against Memphis (17-9, 7-6 AAC) on Friday night at the Yuengling Center.

South Florida took the match against Memphis by set scores of 19-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-14, 17-15.

Kelsey O'Loughlin (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) posted her third double-doubles of the season with 26 assists and 12 digs. Meanwhile, Maria Clara Andrade (São Paulo, Brazil) also posted her sixth double-doubles with 12 kills and 15 digs.

Amanda DeWitt (Jupiter, Fla.) paced the Bulls with a new career high of 18 kills on a .444 hitting percentage. Marta Cvitkovic (Rijeka, Croatia) contributed 14 kills.

Freshman Yasmin Shaw (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) also posted a new career high with two solo blocks and another five block assists, leading the Bulls in blocks. DeWitt contributed with another five total blocks.

The Bulls tallied an impressive 10 total service aces, led by Cvitkovic who claimed a new career high mark with five aces in the match. O'Loughlin claimed another two, along with Andrade, Alexis Williams (St. Louis, Mo.), and Emma Santi (Ocala, Fla.) with a single ace each.

O'Loughlin posted 36 assists throughout the match followed by Tatiana Johnson (Frederick, Md.)  who added 14 assists. The Bulls combined for a total of 173 total attacks.

CC Clausen (The Woodlands, Texas) led the Bulls' back row with 18 digs, followed by Andrade and O'Loughlin. Santi also saw a new career high with eight total digs.
