Corrick Repeats as American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week
TAMPA, Feb. 21, 2022 – University of South Florida softball student-athlete
Georgina Corrick was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week to start the 2022 season.
Â
Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) went 3-0 in the circle at the talent-filled St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational, including a victory against No. 7 Oklahoma State, the team's highest ranked win since the team defeated No. 9 Arizona in 2019.
Â
Overall, throughout the weekend, Corrick threw three complete games, including a shutout, limiting teams to just 10 hits and one earned run while tossing 28 strikeouts. This season, Corrick is 5-0 with a 0.21 ERA in 34.0 innings, limiting opposing hitters to a .144 average and striking out 50.
Â
Josie Foreman (West Palm Beach, Fla.) joins Corrick in the conference's weekly awards, being named to the weekly honor roll for her efforts.
Â
Foreman is one of many hitters swinging a hot bat in USF's lineup currently. She finished her weekend at the Elite Invite with a .556 average in nine at-bats with an RBI and a key double to start the offense against Oklahoma State. She also assists Corrick in the circle, working with the pitcher to call pitches independently of coaches in game.
