South Florida Faces East Carolina in Regular Season Road Finale

TAMPA (Feb. 26, 2022) – The University of South Florida women's basketball team closes out its regular-season road schedule on Sunday when the Bulls travel to Greenville, N.C. to face East Carolina at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. and the game can be seen live on ESPN+ ($).
 
South Florida looks for its fourth-straight win, fifth win in its last six games, and 16th win in its last 20 games.
 
Elena Tsineke leads three players in double-digits in the scoring column, netting 13.9 points per game, and is sixth in The American. Tsineke, who is 19 points shy of 1,000 points for her career, is joined by Bethy Mununga (11.1 ppg) and Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu (10.9 ppg), while Elisa Pinzan is netting 8.3 points per game. Sydni Harvey is averaging 7.6 points per contest.
 
Mununga also leads The American and is 12th in the nation, averaging 11.4 rebounds per game, and is tops in the conference and seventh in the nation in total rebounds (309). Mununga is also just two rebounds shy of becoming the fifth player in program history to grab 900 career rebounds.
 
Pinzan is second in the conference and 24th in the nation in assists per contest dishing out 5.4 per outing, and second in The American in total assists (141) which is good enough for 26th in the nation.

For his efforts on the sideline during the 2020-21 season, Fernandez was named a finalist for the WBCA and semifinalist for the Naismith National Coach of the Year Awards. He was also tabbed the 2021 American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
 
The Bulls posted a 19-4 record and had five players, during the 2020-21 campaign, the Bulls had five players recognized by The American for impressive seasons, including Elisa Pinzan (Most Improved Player, All-Conference Second Team), Maria Alvarez (Co-Sixth Player of the Year), Bethy Mununga (All-Conference First Team), Elena Tsineke (All-Conference First Team), and Sydni Harvey (All-Conference Third Team).
 
In addition, Harvey was named the American Athletic Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player and to the All-Tournament Team, while Mununga and Tsineke were also All-Tournament selections.
