USF Softball Travels to FGCU for Midweek Doubleheader

TAMPA, March 1, 2022 – The University of South Florida softball team travels to Fort Myers, Fla., for its first road games of the season against Florida Gulf Coast in a midweek doubleheader. The team battles the Eagles at 5 p.m., then again at 7:15 p.m.
 
No. 24 South Florida (10-3) emerged from the USF Tournament with a 4-1 record via four shutout efforts from the Bulls' pitching staff. Georgina Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) led USF in the circle, tossing 21 shutout innings, while Erin Poepping (Lino Lakes, Minn.) also threw 8.1 shutout frames.
 
Alanah Rivera (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Meghan Sheehan (Forest Hill, Md.) both finished the weekend with a six-for-15 record at the plate and four RBIs. Rivera hit two doubles while Sheehan hit one.
