TAMPA (March 3, 2022) – The University of South Florida Bulls continue a stretch of five games this weekend by opening an eight-game homestand against the Brown University Bears this weekend.
Following a three-game sweep of Stony Brook last weekend, where the Bulls outscored the Seawolves, 29-7, South Florida is coming off a split of its first two midweek games this season. USF tossed its first shutout of the season on Tuesday against FIU, 7-0, before losing on a walk-off homer the following night, 2-1, at North Florida.
Carmine Lane enters the weekend having hit safely in all eight ballgames to date, and leads the Bulls in batting average (.469), extra-base hits (6) and RBI (12). Drew Brutcher tallied a career-high five RBI last Sunday against Stony Brook and hit a game-tying homer at UNF on Wednesday before the Ospreys walked off in the ninth.
