TAMPA (March 7, 2022) – The University of South Florida Bulls continue an eight-game homestand with five games this week, beginning on Tuesday with a two-game series against Boston College. The Bulls also played five games last week, including their first road contest of the season.

South Florida has won two straight weekend series, and six of its last games overall.

Jack Jasiak was named to the AAC Honor Roll on Monday after tossing seven shutout innings while allowing just two hits and walking one with a career-high 12 strikeouts on Friday against Brown. The Bulls took two of three in the series.

Carmine Lane was named to the Honor Roll the previous week and enters the week leading USF with a .409 batting average and 14 RBI. The redshirt sophomore enters play on Tuesday riding a career-long 11-game hitting streak.

Drew Brutcher batted .450 over five games last week with a double, three homers and seven RBI. The sophomore tallied his first career two-homer game on Sunday against Brown while going 4-for-5 with four RBI. Brutcher also notched a five RBI game two weeks ago against Stony Brook.

The USF pitching staff posted a 2.82 ERA (14 ER/44.2 IP) with 65 strikeouts over five games last week. The Bulls rank ninth in the NCAA in walks/9-inn. (2.55), 13th in strikeout/walk ratio (4.04), 30th in WHIP (1.12), 38th in ERA (3.10) and 56th in hits/ allowed-9 inn. (7.57) and 69th in strike­outs/9 (10.3).
