TAMPA, March 8, 2022 – The University of South Florida softball team continues its nearly month-long homestand with a midweek doubleheader against the Stetson Hatters on Wednesday. First pitch in game one is scheduled for 5 p.m., with game two following approximately 35 minutes after game one.

Recapping the Week
The Bulls are coming off a 5-0 showing at the USF Tournament, sweeping its opponents to keep a now nine-game win streak intact. USF defeated UIC twice, FAMU twice and Army once over the weekend, following a midweek doubleheader sweep last Wednesday in Fort Myers, Fla. against FGCU.

Dominance in the Circle
Georgina Corrick has been nearly untouchable this season in the circle. This past week, the senior finished 5-0 with a save, while also breaking multiple records and tossing the fourth prefect game in program history. She also broke the 1,000 strikeout milestone, tossed a single-game record of 19 strikeouts against FGCU and posted her 38
th career shutout, a new program record.

The senior has swept all four of the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week awards so far this season, earning her most recent after this weekend while also being named the D1Softball Pitcher of the Week and the Extra Inning Softball co-Player of the Week.

Overall, this season Corrick has a 13-0 record in 12 starts, with a 0.08 ERA in 87.1 innings in the circle. She's allowed just one earned run and hasn't allowed an earned run in 63.2 innings or a run in 57.2 innings

Bulls in the Rankings
South Florida remained ranked in many national polls entering the season's fifth week. The Bulls rank as high as No. 21 in the Softball America rankings, while being placed at No. 22 in the D1Softball rankings, the Extra Inning Softball poll and USA Softball/ESPN poll.

Player Highlights
Alexis Johns finished last week going 10-for-24 at the plate, posting a .417 batting average. She stole 10 bases over the seven games, while also scoring nine runs, tallying five walks and driving home three runs.

Josie Foreman, along with all of USF's catching corps, calls her own games behind the plate, including Corrick's perfect game on Sunday. In her two seasons with the team, Foreman has helped call four no-hitters and a perfect game.
