Dominance in the Circle
Senior pitcher
Georgina Corrick continues to be lights-out for South Florida this season in the circle. She's posted a 28-5 record with a 0.48 ERA. Her 15 shutouts and 331 strikeouts both rank first in the country, while the second-place pitcher in both of those categories rank one shutout and 50 strikeouts behind her, respectively. Her 27 wins also leads the nation, two wins more than the next pitcher in line. Her ERA is third in the country, ranking only behind pitchers with less than 31 percent of the innings Corrick has thrown. For her efforts, Corrick was named a finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award.
Â
Overall, the South Florida staff has been successful this season, throwing the second most shutouts in the nation with 20, ranking only behind No. 1 Oklahoma by one, while also holding the sixth best staff ERA (1.68) in the country and the fifth-best strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.04).
Â
She's a runner, She's a track star
Alexis Johns leads the country with 46 stolen bases so far this season, three more than the next closest base-stealer. She set a new USF single-season record, breaking the one set last season by
AnaMarie Bruni (38), and AAC single-season record. While only being at USF for two seasons, she's already in the No. 7 spot on USF's all-time list.
