GREENVILLE, N.C., April 3, 2022 – The University of South Florida softball team completed a three-game sweep of the ECU Pirates with a 5-1 win on Sunday afternoon, moving to 31-10 on the season and 3-3 in conference play.
Georgina Corrick earned her third win of the weekend to move to 25-3, the first pitcher in the country to hit 25 wins this season.

Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) tied Sara Nevins for USF's all-time wins record with the 101
st of her career.
Dezarae Maldonado (Winter Haven, Fla.) hit her second home run of the weekend in the game, improving an impressive stat line for the series, while
Meghan Sheehan (Forest Hill, Md.) posted her second multi-RBI game of the weekend.

The Bulls grabbed a quick lead.
Alexis Johns (Sarasota, Fla.) hit a leadoff triple to begin the game and scored two batters later as Sheehan singled up the middle. The Bulls added another later in the inning with
Vivian Ponn (Fort Myers, Fla.) singling home
Megan Pierro (Lutz, Fla.) to take a 2-0 lead.

East Carolina responded in the bottom half as an unearned run crossed the plate on an infield single.

Pierro issued the USF response in the fourth. The second baseman hit her third sacrifice fly of the season that allowed
Alanah Rivera (St. Petersburg, Fla.) to cross home, making the score 3-1.

Maldonado hit a solo shot over the left field fence and later Johns scored her second run of the game on another Sheehan single later in the inning to make it 5-1 in favor of USF.

Notables
- The three-game sweep of ECU is the first time since joining the American Athletic Conference that USF has responded to getting swept in a three-or-more-game series with a three-or-more-game series sweep of its own. USF has only been swept three times in AAC play but has swept opponents 16 times in series lasting three games or more.
- With two hits today, Sheehan has tallied nine multi-hit games this season, the second most on the team. Maldonado also has three multi-hit games after a pair of hits this afternoon.
- Johns has a five-game hitting streak and has reached base in nine straight games.
