Bulls wrap up regular season at Ironwood Invitational

TAMPA (April 2, 2022) – The University of South Florida women's golf team concludes the regular season at the Ironwood Invitational hosted by ECU on April 4-5. The outing will be the Bulls final tournament before the American Athletic Conference Championship slated for April 17-19.
 
The 14-team field at the Ironwood Invitational includes: South Florida, Augusta, Campbell, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, East Carolina, High Point, James Madison, North Florida, Ohio State, Richmond, UNCW, Western Kentucky.
 
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and conclude the event with 18 holes on Tuesday. The Bulls will tee off the opening round at 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
 
Head coach Erika Brennan (4th season) has announced the following lineup for South Florida: Melanie Green (Medina, N.Y.), Morgan Baxendale (Windermere), Ana Maria Barriga (Neiva, Colombia), Juliana Camargo (Bogota, Colombia) and Ashley Zagers (Oldsmar). Leonor Medeiros (Palmela, Portugal) will compete as an individual.
 
"Ironwood will be a great test of golf as we make final preparations for the conference tournament," Brennan said. "We are connecting some dots and inching closer to peaking at the right time."

The Bulls will head to the AAC Championship in Pinehurst, N.C. on April 17-19. The conference championship event will be played at Pinehurst No. 6.   
 
About USF Women's Golf
The Bulls are in their fourth season under head coach Erika Brennan in 2021-22. USF is among the fastest rising program in the country, as they climbed 75 spots in the national Golfstat rankings following Brennan's first season. The Bulls won two tournaments in 2018-19 and set several program records, including season scoring average (293.43) and team rounds of par or better (6), and in 2019-20 the Bulls posted a wire-to-wire win at the Old Friends Invitational, marking the program's third tournament title since spring 2019. USF opened its abbreviated 2020-21 campaign by breaking the program team record for low 54-hole team score (861).
