Corrick Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

GREENVILLE, N.C., May 12, 2022 – University of South Florida senior pitcher Georgina Corrick was voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Thursday.

Corrick, who was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American in both 2020 and 2021, earned her third consecutive first team all-district honor. The four-time American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year graduated in spring 2021 with her bachelor's degree in marine biology and is currently pursuing a master's degree in global sustainability. She's projected to graduate with her second degree in spring 2023.

On the field, Corrick has been one of the nation's best pitchers this season. Entering today's AAC Tournament first round game against ECU, the two-time All-American has a 34-5 record with a 0.44 ERA in 255 innings pitched. She's tallied 394 strikeouts with only 29 walks and held opposing hitters to a .117 batting average. She won nine AAC Pitcher of the Week honors this season and was named the unanimous 2022 AAC Pitcher of the Year, her second unanimous selection and fourth overall. She's also broken 19 different USF or AAC records in her career.

The Academic All-District Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in June.

South Florida is in district four, which includes NCAA Division I schools in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and South Carolina. Corrick is one of two honorees from the American Athletic Conference, joining Wichita State's Addison Barnard.
