Eaton named to AAC Honor Roll, Bulls travel to Stetson Tuesday

TAMPA (May 9, 2022) – The University of South Florida Bulls embark on their final road trip of the regular season on Tuesday night with a non-conference tilt at Stetson. USF will then travel to ECU for a three-game weekend series beginning on Friday.
South Florida went 4-1 against the Hatters last season including wins in both games in DeLand.
Jarrett Eaton was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll on Monday after hitting .417 (5-12) with three extra-base hits and four RBI in the Bulls' series win over UCF. Eaton delivered the game-winning RBI in the seventh inning of the series-clinching finale. He has five extra-base hits and six RBI over his last five games entering the week.
Eaton is one of nine different players this season (10x) to earn conference weekly honors. Carmine Lane has been named to the Honor Roll twice this year.
Lane continues to lead the AAC in hits (68) and RBI (50) while ranking third in the league in total bases (110). His 50 RBI are already a new career high and he has matched last year's career high of 22 multi-hit games this season.
The Bulls continue to reach base at a high rate in 2022, ranking 33rd in the NCAA in walks (236) and 78th in team OBP (.386).
USF pitching was lights out over the final two games of the UCF series, allowing just one run in each of those contests. The bullpen combined for 12.0 IP and 12 strikeouts with two runs over those ballgames. Freshman Joey Volini earned his first collegiate win on Sunday and Nolan Hudi nailed down his first save of the year.
Stetson has struggled in conference play as of late, but has tallied Top 25 wins over Miami and Florida State in each of its last two midweek games.
