Track and Field Announces 2023 Indoor and Outdoor Season

Bulls will host two regular season meets and the 2023 AAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships

TAMPA, Fla., January 12, 2021 – The University of South Florida men's and women's track and field teams has announced its indoor and outdoor schedule for the 2023 season. The slate features several highly competitive meets, including two home events and the AAC Outdoor Championships hosted at USF Track & Field stadium.
 
The Bulls indoor season kicks off with the Jimmy Carnes Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. on Jan. 13. USF then competes in Louisville at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Jan. 27-28. Afterward, the team travels to Massachusetts for back-to-back meets at Harvard and Boston on Feb. 3 and 4.
 
The indoor slate then features one last regular season meet; the Windy City Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin in Chicago Feb. 10-11. The AAC Indoor Championships on Feb. 24-25 will be held in Birmingham, AL at the Crossplex and NCAA Indoor Championships on Mar. 10-11 in Albuquerque, N.M.
 
The outdoor campaign begins at the University of Tampa on Feb. 18 at the Tampa Track Classic and March 3 at the Tampa Distance Classic. The Bulls then host their first meet of the season on Mar. 17-18, the USF Bulls Invitational. Then, the team travels to Raleigh at NC State on Mar. 23-25 and in Gainesville for the Florida Relays on Mar. 31-Apr. 1. Subsequently, USF returns to host the South Florida Invitational for their last home meet at USF Track & Field Stadium on Apr. 7-8.
 
USF will split squads as they travel to California for the Mt. Sac Relays on Apr. 13-15, and Gainesville for the Tom Jones Memorial meet on Apr. 14-15.  The team wraps up the regular season the weekend of Apr. 27 to compete in the Penn Relays held in Philadelphia from Apr. 27-29 and UNF East Coast Relays in Jacksonville on Apr. 28-29.

The Bulls then prepare to host the AAC Outdoor Championships on May 12-14. National competition begins with the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville on May
24-27 and NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas. on June 7-10.
 
"The 2023 competitive slate provides us with great opportunities to compete at presumably some of the best facilities and historic venues around the country," head coach Erik Jenkins said, "I look forward to watching out team take advantage of the opportunities as they continue to prepare themselves for elite competition during the championship season."

About USF Track and Field
The USF track and field team has produced 22 All-America selections since 2008 and at least one All-American in nine of the last 11 years. 2016 graduate Matthew O'Neal is USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. USF has posted two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013 - O'Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). The Bulls hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary at the USF Track and Field Stadium and will host the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championships.
