TAMPA, FLA., February 5, 2023 – The USF women's golf team opens their spring slate Monday in Boca Raton, Fla. at the FAU Paradise Invitational, Feb. 6-7.
The tournament will be played at Osprey Point Golf Club (Par-72, 6,204 Yards). Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and conclude play with 18 holes on Tuesday. Both rounds will have an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
USF will compete in an 11-team field with teams from Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana, Colorado State, Brigham Young, Kennesaw St. University, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern, UTSA and Kansas State.
"We are riding the momentum from a strong fall season and the team has prepared well leading into this first event," said USF Coach Erika Brennan. "The golf course sets up well for our games and it will be nice to play in our home state to kick off the spring season. We'll need to make putts and play aggressive if we want to finish where we know we can. The team is hungry and we are laser-focused on the mission of making the NCAA post-season."

LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls last competed at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla. where they finished their fall season with a third-place finish in a 12-team field. The Bulls collectively carded eight team rounds of par or better over five fall tournaments (15 rounds) which set a new program record. The eight team rounds of par or better broke the mark of seven set last year over the entire course of the 2021-22 season.
Melanie Green (Medina, N.Y.) carded her third top-10 finish over four fall outings. The junior tied for eighth place with a final score of 3-under par, 213. Teammate Lauren Heinlein (Ocala) also posted a 54-hole total of 213 – her lowest score at USF since transferring from Kansas.

The Bulls are in their sixth season under head coach Erika Brennan in 2022-23. USF is among the fastest rising programs in the country, as they climbed 75 spots in the national Golfstat rankings following Brennan's first season in 2018-19 and have captured three tournament titles under Brennan, while setting numerous program scoring records under her leadership. Junior standout Melanie Green has been an all-conference performer in each of her first two seasons, reached the 2022 NCAA Regionals as an individual and competed in both the U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Women's Amateur championships.
