Tampa, Fla., Feb. 9, 2023 – The University of South Florida track and field team wraps up its regular indoor season at the Badgers Windy City Invite this weekend in Chicago, Ill. It's the Bulls' last meet prior to the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships later this month in Birmingham, Al.

"We have competed at some of the finest facilities in the country this indoor season," head coach
Erik Jenkins said, "The Gately Center in Chicago is another outstanding venue we are excited to utilize. The meet is very well organized, and the competition continues to elevate with elite performers. This is exactly the type of meet we need in preparation for the championship portion of the indoor season."

Annia Ashley,
Shaniya Benjamin,
Loren Johnson, and
Kendall McDaniel kick off the Windy City Invite at 2 p.m. on Friday with the women's long jump, along with
Noah Bitter in the men's pole vault. Benjamin and Ashley currently rank third and eight, respectively, on the USF women's list.

At 4 p.m.,
Doneisha Anderson,
Zahria Allers-Liburd,
Kayla Hugg,
A'Kyrah O'Banner and
Patricija Roshofa will represent South Florida in the women's 800m competition while
Daunte O'Banion,
Monte Parker,
Shevioe Reid, and
Elijah Wright represent the men's.

Shortly after,
Riley Hunt and
Annalise Zeinemann will compete in the women's pole vault competition, as well as
Alliya Boothe and
Ameilya Richardson in the weight throw event.

The 60m hurdles will feature
Madeline Abega,
Hannah Connell,
Shaneylix Davila, and
Chakiya Plummer in the women's competition and
Michael Bourne III and
Victor Steiner for the men. Connell and
Jaleel Croal will represent the green and gold in the men's and women's 60m dash.

Cora Kolodge wraps up the day on Friday with the women's 5000m competition at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday,
Johann Jeremiah represents South Florida in the men's shot put, while
Audrey Wuerffel competes in the women's pole vault, and Johnson and
David Ajama compete in the triple jump.

Kobe Babin and
Stone Baker battle in the pole vault competition later in the day, followed by
Romaine Beckford and
Kendell Mosley in the men's high jump, and Ashley and
Nia Robinson in the women's event.

The 200m heats begin at 12:40 p.m., starting off with Allers-Liburd,
Je'Nyia Burton, Connell, Hugg, O'Banner in the women's, followed by Croal, O'Banion, Parker, and Reid for the men's competition.

Arden La-Rose will run the women's mile for USF as well as the 800m with
Carolyn Brown.
Jesse Benavides and
Troy Llanos will run in the men's event.

About USF Track and Field
The USF track and field team has earned 53 All-America selections and at least one All- American in 10 of the last 12 years, including a record eight athletes claiming 11 honors in 2021. Tampa native Shaniya Benjamin set a program record earning three All-American honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while triple jumper Matthew O'Neal, a 2016 graduate, became USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. Bulls have posted two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013 - O'Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). Head coach Erik Jenkins took over the program in 2020 and in the 2021 outdoor season the Bulls posted seven program records and 40 top 10 all-time program marks. USF hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium located on the east end of campus.
