Â
In doubles, Davide Tortora and Bruno Oliveira were unsuccessful on court one but Alvin Tudorica and Erik Grevelius battled through on their court to even the playing field.
Â
The fate of the doubles' point came down to Thomas Pavlekovich-Smith and Tom Pisane on court three. Tied 6-6, they got three straight points before UAB would show resistance. With some encouragement from the crowd and a bit of poise, they were able follow through and top their opponents, 7-6 (7-4).
Â
Entering singles with the advantage - for the third straight match - the Green and Gold needed three more courts to clinch.
Â
Oliveira on court four claimed his court 6-1, 6-2 to push the squad closer to another victory. Soon after, the Blazers added points of their own with wins on courts three and six.
Â
Dropping his first set 4-6, Elijah Cham on court five recovered to win his next two in a dominating fashion. Cham would give South Florida its third point by winning his remaining sets 6-2, 6-1.
