TAMPA, Fla., October 19, 2024 – The University of South Florida volleyball team (11-7, 7-0 AAC) will go on the road for a Sunday afternoon match against in-state foes, the Florida Atlantic Owls (11-8, 3-4 AAC).

LAST TIME OUT
On Wednesday, South Florida welcomed Rice for a midweek showdown of the last two unbeaten teams in the American. The Bulls came out on top with a clean sweep over the Owls. The Bulls are now 7-0 in conference action.

The last time the Bulls started 7-0 in conference play was back in 2002. South Florida started Conference USA play 12-0. The Bulls won the conference tournament that season and earned the bid to the NCAA Tournament. Head Coach

Maria Clara Andrade is currently on a 12-match double-digit kill streak. She extended her streak to 12 in the first set against Rice. In three of the last twelve matches, Andrade has recorded 20+ kills. Her 24 kills against Tulsa were four away from tying her career-high of 28. Andrade is five kills away from reaching 1,000 in her career.

South Florida is ranked nationally in the top 50 in assists and kills per set. The Bulls' 12.89 assists per set is 22nd nationally and first in the conference. The Bulls are averaging 13.67 kills per set, ranking 26th in the country and first in the conference.

Caroline Dykes is averaging 10.85 assists per set which ranks 11th nationally. Her 716 total assists rank 15
th in the nation.

Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her fifth season at the helm of her alma mater in 2024. Named head coach on Jan. 8, 2020, Shepardson led the Bulls' program to its last conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance as a student-athlete in 2002. Earning the AAC East Division title in 2023, South Florida made a postseason appearance in the NIVC, winning three games and advancing to the Fab Four to mark the longest postseason run in program history. South Florida Volleyball has made seven NCAA Tournament appearances and won 12 conference titles since its inception in 1972. The Bulls play in The Corral (1,000), located adjacent to the Yuengling Center on the USF campus.
