TAMPA, Fla (October 29, 2024) – The University of South Florida men's golf team won the FAU Invitational today, marking their first tournament win of the season. The Bulls finished at even par as a team and won by an impressive 20 strokes over second-place, North Alabama. Leading the charge,
Jake Peacock was the only player to shoot under par (-3) and secured his first individual title of the season.
No. 20 Peacock has been dominant this season and proved it once again at the FAU Invitational. He posted a third- and sixth-place finish in the two previous tournaments and can now add an individual title to his fall resume. Peacock tied his low round (64) in round two and posted a team-high 14 birdies.
Shubham Jaglan earned his best finish of the season, securing second place just behind Peacock. Jaglan shot even par across three rounds, with his lowest round of 69 coming in the final round. In addition to Peacock and Jaglan,
Cooper Smith also delivered a strong performance, tying for seventh at +3, which marks his season-best finish.
Wilhelm Ryding and
Nino Palmquist each recorded their best tournament of the fall semester, both tying for 15th place at +6. Both Ryding and Palmquist got the breakout tournament they've been aiming for, and it will be exciting to see them build on this momentum going forward.
The No. 26 Bulls have climbed the leader board in all three tournaments this season, posting a sixth-place finish at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate and a fifth-place finish at the Windon Memorial Classic. Their consistency has been on display, and they can expect to see a continued rise in the national rankings. With multiple players achieving their highest finishes of the season, the Bulls carry significant momentum moving forward. Final results from the FAU Invitational can be
