GAME NOTES: USF | Marist

TAMPA (February 22, 2024) – The University of South Florida Bulls wrap up a six-game homestand to open the 2024 campaign with a four-game series against the Marist College Red Foxes. Following the weekend series, the Bulls will embark on a six-game road swing.

The weekend series with Marist has had two time changes from the original schedule due to forecast weather on Friday and travel constraints on Sunday. The Bulls also had to battle weather on opening weekend and had their three games reduced to just two and were unable to face off against Louisville.

Despite an 0-2 start to the season, South Florida impressed on the mound last weekend with a 2.00 team ERA. Hunter Mink and Jack Cebert each struck out seven over 5.0 IP in their starts. Chandler Dorsey appeared in relief in both ballgames and struck out three batters combined without allowing a hit.

Marist opened the 2024 season at Southern Mississippi, a 2023 Super Regional team, and salvaged the series finale in Hattiesburg, 6-3.

Projected Pitching Matchups

Friday – RHP Hunter Mink (0-1, 1.80 ERA) vs. RHP Tyler Hartley (0-1, 9.00 ERA)

Saturday Game 1 – RHP Dominick Madonna (season debut) vs. RHP Riley Orr (0-1, 9.00 ERA)

Saturday Game 2 – RHP Matt Brown (season debut) vs. RHP Andrew Fierro (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
