Bulls’ win streak snapped in series finale by Aggies

USF won the weekend series, but dropped the finale, 13-1.

TAMPA (March 10, 2024) – The University of South Florida Bulls (9-6) had their four-game winning streak halted on Sunday afternoon with a 13-1 setback to the North Carolina A&T Aggies (11-4) at USF Baseball Stadium. South Florida won the first two games of the weekend series in thrilling comeback fashion before dropping Sunday's finale. USF's six-game home winning streak also came to an end.

The Aggies, who scored first in all three games of the series, took an early 1-0 lead on Sunday in the top of the first inning. An RBI-single by Eric Snow (Forsyth, Ga.) tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first, but that was all the scoring for the Bulls on the day.

A&T regained the lead with a pair of runs in the second, scored once in the third inning and plated three more runs in the fourth, eighth and ninth innings.

Prior to the loss, USF had been outscoring its opponents 27-1 in the eighth and ninth innings of ballgames over the last four affairs.

Snow finished the day with a pair of hits and Stewart Puckett (DeLeon Springs), who logged his first career start, hit and RBI on Saturday, went 3-for-4 for the Bulls.
